Every Tory MP in Devon and Cornwall voted against Labour’s motion criticising the Government’s plan for regional pay last night and in favour of the Government’s amendment – with the exception of Truro’s Sarah Newton, who doesn’t appear to have voted at all.
Lib Dems Andrew George (St Ives) and Nick Harvey (North Devon) followed their Tory colleagues in voting against Labour’s motion and for the Government’s.
Lib Dem Stephen Gilbert (St Austell and Newquay) also voted against Labour’s motion – in spite of his loud protestations in the media that he is against regional pay. He didn’t vote on the Government’s amendment.
Lib Dem Dan Rogerson (North Cornwall) and Adrian Sanders (Torbay) didn’t vote at all.
Of course, both my Plymouth Labour colleague Alison Seabeck and I voted against regional pay.
